Never Mind the Retcon, Here's the Hex Kittens PDF Print E-mail

Somewhere, backstage of the universe...

"So, wait, they just started the universe over?" Lily asked.

"Yep," replied Dandy. "Twice. Why do you think we haven't been called in to work for like over a year?"

"I dunno. I just figured it was because Lexy and Quinn grew up or got lives or something," Lily said. "So, how'd they do it? Time travel? Big cosmic battle? Annoying throwaway character that time forgot using the dimensional walls like a headboard?"

"No, they just kind of scrapped everything and started over from the beginning."

"But because we're occasionally allowed to do the whole breaking-the-third-wall metareference thing, we still remember the old version?"

"Yep."

"And nobody else does?"

"Nope."

"I sooo can't wait to fuck with people."

"Fuck with people how?"

"Uh, by taunting them with freaky visions of their future. Like, we could go up to Perfect and be like, 'Hey, did you know that...'"

"Lily! The readers."

"What? They both already know."

"We've got new readers now."

"Seriously? Well, hey, new readers: did you know that..."

"Lily!!!"

"It's not all good, remembering," Willow put in.

"What do you mean?" Lily asked.

"It means we're going to be the only three characters who have to live with the memory of the 2004 Hex Kittens Holiday Special."

"Eek! Good point... back to the story."
